The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) gathers international musicians and performing artists and provides them with the opportunity to evolve in an open and innovative atmosphere as well as in a variety of study programmes.
The former „Konservatorium Wien“ was formally accredited as a university by decree of the Austrian ministry of education, research and culture in 2005. In 2015 the accreditation was prolonged until 2021.
The MUK offers more than 30 bachelor and master programmes, academic diploma programmes and preparatory courses. Central assignment of the MUK is the development and improvement of arts in conjunction with research and teaching. The encompassing education of individual student personalities – more than 860 per year – on the basis of exceptional talent and potential is of pivotal significance.
On October 12, the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna held an “Open House” at its Johannesgasse and Bräunerstrasse campuses. Kids and students enjoyed to gain insights into everyday life at an arts university: https://muk.ac.at/artikel/rueckblick-auf-das-open-house-2023-an-der-muk.html
