Tuition Fees

The tuition fees at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna are ― thanks to the support of the City of Vienna, which provides a subsidy of € 25,000 per person and study programme, clearly below those of internationally comparable institutions.

Officially enrolled students (BA/MA/PhD)
Officially enrolled students	410 EUR
Officially enrolled students from the countries listed below: Andorra, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, New Zealand, Russia, San Marino, South Africa, South Korea, Ukraine, Vatican, USA and stateless persons and students with unresolved citizenship	1,380 EUR
Officially enrolled students IGP programme	960 EUR
Officially enrolled students IGP programme of the countries just mentioned: Andorra, Australia, Japan, Canada, Monaco, New Zealand, Russia, San Marino, South Africa, South Korea, Ukraine, Vatican, USA and stateless persons and students with unresolved citizenship	1,920 EUR

Non-degree students
Certificate of Performance	3,760 EUR
Certificate of Ensemble Playing	3,760 EUR
Academic diploma programme	1,780 EUR
In individual subjects	1,780 EUR

Preparatory course	600 EUR

Entrance examination	50 EUR

In addition to the tuition fee, a student contribution (including insurance) of
26.20 EUR per semester is levied by the Austrian National Union of Students (ÖH).
This ÖH contribution is payable by officially enrolled students and by students on university courses.

Students with multiple studies only pay the tuition fee once (the higher amount, in case that the tuituion fee is not the same for each of the studies).

Students who do not pay their tuition fees within the specified payment deadline will be charged a 20 per cent surcharge, which must be paid by the end of the grace period at the latest.

^{The tuition fees are index-linked to the Austrian Consumer Price Index 2020 published by Statistics Austria. The starting value is the value of the consumer price index 2020 for February 2025 (127.1). A change in the index figure of up to 3% is not taken into account. If this limit is exceeded, the entire change will take effect in full. The index adjustment is announced by 31 May of each year at the latest and applies from the winter semester following the announcement. The tuition fee resulting from the index adjustment is rounded down to the nearest 10 EURO.}
