Microsoft Office 365

Introduction

The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna offers free access to Microsoft Office 365 for students and employees.

You can use the following Office 365 services for the duration of your studies or employment:

  • Word
  • Excel
  • Powerpoint
  • Outlook
  • OneDrive (nur für Lehrende und Studierende)
  • SharePoint
  • Teams
  • OneNote
     

Please note that these are online services.
You can use them on mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) for all the applications mentioned above.
However, a desktop installation (local computer) is only possible for the application Teams.

Download Teams for your local computer here. To download Teams for your mobile device, click on the appropriate store in the download area.

For web use of Office 365 we recommend using MS Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as browser. The use of teams via the web only works with MS Edge and Google Chrome. A device with Internet access is required to use Office 365.

Registration

Log in to your Office 365 portal with your active MUKaccount (MUKmail address) at https://portal.office.com or when opening the application (e.g. Word) on your mobile device.

Terms of use

Please note that this service may not be used for commercial or business purposes. If a third party makes a claim against the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, in particular due to a user's violation of the terms and conditions of use, the user shall indemnify and hold harmless the University of Music and Performing Arts Private University of the City of Vienna.

  1. The user is a registered student or employee in active employment at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
  2. This is a temporary right of use for the duration of the studies or employment. After its expiry, the account will be deleted.
  3. The use of the software is free of charge for students and employees.
  4. The manufacturer's terms of use and general licence conditions shall apply. The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna only provides the account for use.
  5. If the user violates the obligations arising from this agreement in a grossly culpable manner, the account shall be blocked immediately.
  6. The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna reserves the right to adapt the terms of use. Adjustments do not require the renewed consent of the user. However, the right to revoke such use shall exist.

Data protection - Declaration of consent

In order to use the Office 365 service, it is necessary for the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna to transfer your personal data (first name and surname) to Microsoft in the course of account creation. In the process, data is sent abroad and stored by Microsoft abroad. No further personal data will be transmitted to Microsoft or third parties by the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
The data protection regulations, licence conditions and other applicable guidelines of Microsoft apply. With the start of the user process (login) you voluntarily agree to the aforementioned processing of your data and take note of the Microsoft data protection regulations.
In the event of a revocation/objection, the use of the software is no longer possible.

How do I get support?
If you have any questions about the Microsoft Office 365 offer, MUK support is available at support@muk.ac.at.
For technical support or in case of problems with Office 365, the support channels of the manufacturer (Microsoft) must be used without exception.
