Oboe

The branch of study oboe offers training on the Wiener oboe, the French oboe and on a Wiener oboe with French fingering.
Tuition on auxiliary instruments, such as the oboe d’amore, cor anglais and Baroque oboe, frequent opportunities to perform, orchestra productions and innovative projects, from live electronics through to interdisciplinary performance, complement the degree along with workshops, practice auditions/competitions with feedback, masterclasses and seminars on a variety of topical issues.

The field of study Music Education – Voice and Instruments (IGP) focuses not only on a comprehensive artistic oboe education but also on the development of pedagogical mediation and communication skills. The development of practical teaching skills is provided by the cooperating music schools of the city of Vienna, as well as by the supervision of the MUK teachers and helps the students to be able to independently develop according to their own pedagogically valuable convictions acting teachers.
