He was a member of the Israeli Baroque Players, which toured extensively around the world, including the prestigious Salzburg Festival. Other ensembles and groups include the Tel-Aviv piano quartet USA based New Art Trio, Modus Trio and many projects around the globe. He enjoys collaborating with his son Eyal in Duo violin repertoire. One of the most prominent teachers in the world today, many of Yair's students have successful solo and chamber careers, with prizes in the competitions and hold key positions in the musical world, such as concertmaster seats in famous orchestras and teaching positions in prestigious academies.
He is a professor at the Tel Aviv Academy (now the Buchman–Metha School of the music). Throughout the years he has held the post of head of strings faculty as well as head of the academy.
He also holds proffesorial posts at the Kunstuniversitat Graz in Austria and at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. At the Tel Aviv Music Academy he initiated, created and has run a programme for the music students for the last 30 years that includes theoretical and practical classes, which focus and fundamental principles of instrumental teaching.
