Andrzej Grygier is recognized as one of the most promising European classical guitarists of his generation, with an impressive record of nearly 30 competition victories. Among his most notable achievements are first prizes at the Baltimore Guitar Competition, the “Pittaluga” Guitar Competition in Alessandria, Silesian Guitar Autumn in Tychy, the Budapest International Guitar Competition, the International Guitar Competition in Brno, and Forum Gitarre Wien.
He has honed his artistry under the guidance of distinguished masters such as Łukasz Kuropaczewski, Manuel Barrueco, Hubert Käppel, Marcin Dylla, Pepe Romero, Zoran Dukić, Aniello Desiderio, Carlo Marchione, Judicaël Perroy, Paolo Pegoraro, Piotr Zaleski, Marco Tamayo, and others.
Andrzej has been the recipient of numerous scholarships, including from the President of the City of Leszno, the Polish Children's Fund, the Vividus Association in Poznań, and the Polonia Poznań Lions Club. His outstanding artistic achievements earned him the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship from 2011 to 2016 and the “Young Poland” Scholarship in 2013.
As a soloist, he has performed with orchestras under the baton of renowned conductors such as Ilya Gajsin, Georg Köhler, Nicolas Milton, Roberto Zarpellon, Marek Moś, Miłosz Kula, and Anna Sułkowska-Migoń. His performances have taken him to stages in Poland, Germany, Austria, Russia, Slovakia, France, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Croatia, and the United States.
In 2022, he was recognized as a rising star of classical guitar by The Acoustic Guitar.
Andrzej began his studies in 2017 at the Academy of Music in Poznań in the class of Łukasz Kuropaczewski, graduating with honors in 2022. During the academic year 2020/2021, he studied at KUG Graz in Austria, and from 2019 to 2022, he attended the SGA in Pordenone, Italy, under Paolo Pegoraro. Currently, he is pursuing jazz guitar studies and is a PhD student at the Doctoral School of the Academy of Music in Poznań, specializing in classical guitar.
