Teaching and examination organisation

Courses described under Programme-specific Measures can be held in presence, provided that the safety measures described are observed:

  • In consultation with the respective study programme heads, teaching in distance learning is desired.
  • Theory classes are generally held in distance learning. Individual study programmes can hold these in attendance if this reduces social contacts (less travel to and from the MUK).
  • All presence classes are held exclusively by mutual agreement between lecturers and students.
  • Distance learning courses must be registered in MUKonline.
  • The prerequisite for participation in presence classes is compliance with the FFP2 mask obligation, hygiene measures and rules of conduct.
  • Presence lessons must not exceed the maximum permitted room occupancy.
  • Projects involving activities with higher transmission risks are implemented in isolated groups. This means that students involved in these projects will do all other teaching at the time of rehearsals and performances in Distance Teaching only.
  • Documentation of attendance is mandatory and complete. Attendance lists must be kept by the course leaders for each course unit. These must be kept for at least 28 days and made available at all times.
  • Board examinations are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the respective programme management and in compliance with specific protection concepts. Students are informed separately about this by the programme management.
  • Course-specific COVID 19 safety concepts include measures that go beyond these regulations and are developed and communicated by the course directors in cooperation with the Corona representative of the MUK.

The MUK considers itself a progressive university of music and art that creates cultural values in the fields of music, dance, acting and singing. The MUK is the only university owned by the City of Vienna and brings together the best international young talent and outstanding lecturers.
