DESCRIPTION:Werke für Klavier zu vier und zwei Händen
Dieser Duo-Abend findet als Abschluss der Masterclass Klavier des renommierten Pianist Yaron Rosenthal, Professor an der Jerusalem Academy (Israel), statt. Die 88 Tasten teilt er mit der Wiener Pianistin und Komponistin Jean Beers, Professorin an der MUK, mit Werken zu vier und zwei Händen. Etwas ganz Besonderes steht auf dem vorweihnachtlichen Programm: das Original-Arrangement von Brahms' Streichquintetts op. 111, das im österreichischen Bad Ischl entstand und mit Fragmenten von Wiener Walzern als Freundschaftszeichen gegenüber seinen Ischler Freunden wie Strauss aufwartet. Diese wunderschöne Musik wird in den Originaltönen des Wiener Flügels zu vernehmen sein - vielleicht wie Brahms sie selbst zusammen mit seiner pianistischen Kollegin und Angebeteten Clara Schumann einst hörte.

Franz Schubert Fantasie für Klavier zu vier Händen f-moll
 Jean Beers, a British-German concert pianist and composer, who has performed internationally at famous concert halls including the Philharmonic Hall in Kiev, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Southbank Centre and Wigmore Hall in London, Palau de la Musica in Barcelona and Ehrbarsaal in Vienna. She has been awarded numerous international prizes for her piano playing. The city of Salzburg has also awarded the prestigious Mozarteum Prize to Beers. Her performance at the world famous Festival Salzburger Festspiele was broadcast live on Austrian radio, who published highlights of her concert alongside performances by Martha Argerich and Daniel Barenboim. For her compositions, Beers has won several prizes at the tender age of 17, as well as her works being performed by musicians of the Philharmonia Orchestra and London Sinfonietta, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Salzburg Chamber Soloists, alongside many more. Violinist Niklas Liepe and his brother Nils premiered her Duo for violin and piano Schmetterlinghaus in the birth house of Beethoven in Bonn, Germany. In her art, she questions and removes boundaries in all her artistic endeavors. Jean Beers is professor and head of the Institute for Keyboard, Composition and Conducting at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK). She is also a researcher and scholar, having reviewed her doctorate in composition (PhD) from the prestigious British Russell Group University, King’s London (KCL), published as the book “Creating Ambiguity in Music” in 2018. She also holds degrees in piano and composition from several of Europe’s top Music Universities such as the Royal Academy of Music in London, and the highest concert artist degree from Hanover in Germany (Konzertexamen).
Yaron Rosenthal is one of the leading Israeli pianists, combining an international career as a solo pianist and a chamber musician. He has given recitals and chamber music concerts in Israel, North and South America, Europe, South Africa and Australia. Critics regard his unique quality of sound, sensitivity and depth of interpretation. Prof. Rosenthal has played as a soloist with leading orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra at the Avery Fisher Hall-Lincoln Center in New York, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra,the New york philharmonic, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, the Ordea Symphony Orchestra, the Calgary Philharmonic, the Santiago de Chile Philharmonic and the Camerata Virtuosi of New York, collaborating with conductors such as Zubin Mehta, David Robertson, Mandy Rodan and Omer Meir Wellber. Professor Rosenthal has won numerous prizes and fellowships, among them the first prize of the Young Artist Competition in Jerusalem, The Gina Bachauer Award, the Leonard Bernstein Fellowship at the Tanglewood Music Center, the Italian Government Award for the Arts and a special fellowship from the Banff Arts Center in Alberta Canada. As a member of the internationally acclaimed Jerusalem Trio he performs regularly at the main chamber music venues around the world, such as Lincoln Center N.Y, Wigmore Hall London, Concertgebouw Amsterdam and The Forbidden City Concert hall in Beijing. In addition to his performance activities, Professor  Rosenthal is a highly regarded piano and chamber music teacher, mentoring young gifted pianists. He has given Master Classes at the Jerusalem Music Center (JMC), The Sidney Conservatory, Tel Hai International Piano Courses and Liszt Academy in Budapest. Professor Rosenthal is currently the head of the piano department at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and a regular guest professor at the most important music academies such as MDW in Vienna, Verdi Conservatorio Milano, National University of Seoul and Mendelssohn Academy in Leipzig. He studied in Israel with Professor Benjamin Oren and Mrs. Pnina Salzman, and in London with pianist Murray Perahia.
